Welcome to SDG Athletics
Something is wrong with modern sports culture—and many Christian families, coaches, pastors, and schools know it. The question is: What do we build instead?
In this introductory episode, Cole Cleveland shares the vision behind SDG Athletics, a movement seeking to rethink athletics from a Biblical worldview.
Athletics is always forming people. Every practice, game, victory, failure, coaching conversation, and car ride home is teaching athletes something about identity, success, authority, work, adversity, and ultimately what matters most. The question isn't whether sports are discipling our children, but who is doing the discipling and toward what end?
SDG Athletics believes there is a better way: pursue excellence without worshiping achievement, compete to win without making winning ultimate, strengthen families and churches rather than sacrificing them to the sports calendar, and use athletics as a training ground for discipline, leadership, stewardship, character, and godliness.
This episode introduces the mission behind SDG Athletics and invites athletes, parents, coaches, pastors, Christian schools, athletic departments, and organizations to join us in building a different kind of sports culture.
Soli Deo Gloria. To the glory of God alone.
