Resolved Academy, Week 10

Miss Kristen's Desk

As Thanksgiving quickly approaches, our students have been working diligently at the preparation of their Thanksgiving program. Over these past couple of weeks, and continuing into next week, the students have been learning about what it means to be thankful for what they have been given. In addition to this, they have also been learning about how they can be a good steward of what they have been given and how this glorifies God. Next week, the students will have a Thanksgiving meal as we wrap up our discussion of the holiday before focusing our attention on Christmas.

In our science class this past week, we completed our study of oceanography by discussing ocean currents, sea creatures, and God’s design of the world. The students reviewed their study of the five oceans and where they are located on a map. We also completed an experiment that exhibited the horizontal movement of water (currents). In our Foundations Worldview class, we learned about how we should obey God. The students learned about what it means to obey God and evaluated various verses that exhibited this obedience. We also learned about how obedience begins with having a right heart towards God. Obedience should come out of loving the Lord with all our hearts. Lastly, in our Biblical History/Geography class, we completed our study of the Puritans and began our study of Thanksgiving. The students learned about the westward movement of the gospel and how this directly impacts us today.

Each of our students is a joy to teach and I enjoy learning alongside them each week. I pray that as each of our students learns about what it means to be a good steward of God’s provision, that I would also be a good steward of the responsibility God has given me in being their teacher each week.
